"So this was the first day of winter in Moscow, with only a little snow it looked so dirty.

"It was one of the last days with good snow conditions on Rosa Khutor resort in Sochi. It was also the first sunny day after 2-3 days of snow fall. We woke up at 7am and caught the first lift.

"I planned this shot for a week. I found the location surfing the internet. It's called the Lopatinskiy Sandpit, about 100 km from Moscow.

"There was very little snow in April when me and the other guys from the Liberty Films crew went down to the Moscow river in the heart of Moscow.

"It was December 30th when we arrived in Saint-Petersburg.
