The biggest event of this year’s Czech snowboarding season, Quiksilver Snowjam, will introduce world class riders. One of the favourites is Finnish rider Markku Koski, winner of last year’s Korean World Championship in big air, bronze medallist from the biggest of all sports events in Torino 2006 and Vancouver’s 6th man in Halfpipe competition.
Next medal aspirator is Mathieu Crépel, world champion in both big air and halfpipe in 2007, also finalist of Vancouver’s halfpipe event. Crépel was also historically first snowboarder who won overall world TTR rating in 2006. Until now organizers announced names of eight riders from five countries such as France, Finland, Sweden, Great Britain and last but not least Czech Republic. Every rider is attracted to Quiksilver Snowjam thanks to the high standard of event and thanks to the nice prize money of 10.000 USD. Two day long programme of Quiksilver Snowjam will start at 19th of March 2010 in Spindleruv Mlyn. This event is a part of O2 Snowboard Tour, the biggest Czech snowboard competition serial.
From all Czech riders there are two names on the starting list at the moment. First one is Martin Cernik, who is also the organizer of the event. Second is Jan Necas – experienced Czech snowboarder. From Sweden will arrive last year’s winner Jakob Wilhelmson and also his fellow Stefan Karlsson. Jamie Nichols from England also confirmed the invitation. Quiksilver Snowjam is the only event in Czech Republic, which meets requirements of World Snowboard Federation (WSF) to reach three stars rating. Results from this race will be part of global TTR Worldtour ranking which you can find on www.ttrworldtour.com.
Visitors of event won’t enjoy just the snowboard tricks but also a party with known DJs and bands. Friday’s gig is all about DJs. Friky, Jorgos and Robot will light up the atmosphere of Spindleruv Mlyn. Saturday will be on another hand mostly about the live bands such as United Flavour, Skapollo, Plexis and Apple Juice. Last but not least is DJ Ladida who is one of the best-known Czech DJanes all over world.
