From the longest standing independent Snowboard film makers comes TurboDojo, the newest movie from the Absinthe crew around Justin Hostynek, premiering this fall globally. TurboDojo is the 20th movie of Absinthe Films featuring snowboarders Nicolas Müller (SUI), Mikkel Bang (NOR), Hans Mindnich (USA), Austen Sweetin (USA), Brandon Cocard (USA), Enzo Nilo (FRA), Ben Ferguson (USA), Kimmy Fasani (USA), Brendan Gerard (USA), Severin Van Der Meer (SUI), Terje Haakonsen (NOR) and Max Buri (SUI).
Filmed on breathtaking locations in Utah, Tahoe, BC, Alaska, Japan and Switzerland the new movie will feature everything from big mountain riding to urban riding and everything in-between. Nicolas Müller has been a part of Absinthe movies for many years: “Filming with Justin and the Absinthe crew is something very special, it really feels like family and it’s all about good vibes and having a good time on the mountain. I respect Justin for his dedication to Snowboarding and its culture and his timeless documentation of it.” Absinthe Filmer Shane Charlebois tries to describe the movie name: “It’s hard to explain unless you experience it, TurboDojo is about that. Everyone can enter!”
Riders will go on tour this October to present the movie to fans across Europe. Additionally, Chris Emmington will join the riders on tour with his band “Easy Giant”, which can be seen live in concert at the tour stops below. Evolving from the Northern California music community, Chris Emmington’s sound stems from deeply rooted influences of jazz and classic rock to the heart driven era of 60’s Soul, Blues, and Psychedelic Rock. Snowboarder Brandon Cocard doesn’t only star in the new Absinthe flick, he is also a regular member of Easy Giant. Fans can also expect concert guest appearances by Mikkel Bang on guitar, who has this to say about the movie: “I always wanted to film with Absinthe and last winter was amazing. Can’t wait to show what our crew did out there. It’s going to be a fun tour!”
