Last week we got to meet the Gnarly crew at ISPO including co-founder Keegan Valaika & team rider Forest Bailey. Their new line is looking very fresh and they are not mimicking other brands. They even hooked me up with some new mean jeans! I'm pretty much in love with them and haven't worn anything else since. Right now you might be asking yourself, "What's so special about them, they look like any other pair of slim black jeans out there." True, there's not a huge difference between these and some bigger companies' jeans. But that's what sick, Gnarly have only been around for about year and they are already producing proper gear and not sacrificing quality in the early going.
We all yearn for more variety in shred brands, like in the old days when there were more little companies run by actual snowboarders, but in these hard times it's mostly the big companies that have been left standing, and few are risking starting something new. So only you the consumer can help small brands like Gnarly grow by supporting them and buying their products. I'm not gonna start ranting on how to avoid monopolies and keep our scene healthy and vital. Plain and simple, these kids rip, they only listen to Bob Marley and Pink Floyd and they are fighting to preserve the rawness of snowboarding because we all know that this shit is Gnarly!
