The infamous Montafon Banked Slalom presented by DEELUXE once again proved to be a snowboard event in its meanwhile 9th edition, in which young shredders, hobby riders, pros and snowboard veterans alike got their money's worth. More than 200 participants aged less than 10 to over 50 celebrated snowboarding in its most original form on March 23 in Gargellen, Austria.
Thanks to a diligent wife, Holle, the course could be conjured this year by board and hand in the deep snow. The challenging course was definitely impressive and attracted snowboard legends like Gigi Rüf, Wolle Nyvelt and Terje Haakonsen to the Montafon to battle with local heroes like Marco Feichtner, Eric Themel or Sveti Baltic for the best time of the day. In brilliant sunshine, Gargellen was at his best on the day of the event, the course was in perfect condition and so nothing stood in the way of a successful event.
At the end it was snowboard legend Terje Haakonsen who set the fastest time of the day for the men and was happy about his third victory at the Montafon Banked Slalom presented by DEELUXE. For the ladies, local hero Svenja Schallner could look forward to the overall win for the first time. Thanks to all helpers, sponsors, participants and everyone who was there to spend an unforgettable day on the mountain.
